"Transcutaneous electrolysis" scams
This version of the "transdermal electrolysis" scam began showing up in the late 1990’s.
Transdermal electrolysis was an offshoot of the electric tweezer scam. It replaced the unproven electric tweezers with an electrified cotton swab used for cleaning ears (Q-Tip).
Transcutaneous electrolysis replaces the cotton swab with electrified patches.
